Parrots' Class Zoom with Alistair Parker
The children thoroughly enjoyed their zoom meeting with the artist Alistair Parker. He shared his artwork and discussed how he became and artist and how he creates his wonderful work. The children were amazed by his presentation and have thoroughly enjoyed recreating his artwork in class.
Parrots Active Maths
The Year 1 children in Parrots today have enjoyed some active Maths and outdoor learning. They have been learning how to read and write their numbers to 20. All of the children have had fun while learning.

Funky Counting
We have been learning a new number song. The children are enjoying dancing and singing along to the rhyme on Youtube.

Listening to and making sounds
In phonics we have been listening to different sounds and playing lots of different sound games. We explored the different sounds that instruments make and played them in different ways. Playing loudly was the most favourite way to play!!!

This week we have been using threading and simple 'sewing' techniques. We practised threading ribbons over and under some wire racks to begin with. Next we have sewn ribbons, wool or thread through a template to make the first letter of our names.
