Chinese New Year Cosmic Yoga
In P.E this morning we did Chinese New Year Cosmic Yoga. We followed the story of the ‘Great Race’ which decided on which animal would represent which year in the Chinese Zodiac. We copied the poses for each animal and the Jade Emperor.

Winter welly walk
A lovely morning outdoors on a welly walk, Little Chicks took clip boards to do observational drawings.
They walked on the crisp grass. Climbed the tyre and made handprints in the frost.

Owls say “namaste”

In the Hot Seat
As part of our 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears' topic this week, we explored the drama technique of 'hot seating'. When a child sat on the 'hot seat', they transformed into a character from our story. They then had to answer questions presented to them from the other children.

The children got to experience a wonderful yoga session this week with our lovely Yogi instructor, Sophie. She guided the children in mindfulness, stretching, breathing and how to help techniques to help our bodies be calm and peaceful.

Weighing and Number bonds
This week we have been comparing the weights of two different objects using the balance scales.
We explored balancing the scales further by putting the number 5 numicon piece on one side and the children had to figure out how to make the scales balance, but there were no more number 5 pieces…

Making human scales
In Maths this week we have been looking at scales and how they help us to weigh objects. We decided to see if we could turn ourselves into scales, placing heavy and light objects into each side to observe what happened. Here, we managed to create a balance!

Letter of the week g
Little Chicks have been learning the letter g. They have learnt the letter g song, found the letter g in the classroom, used their finger to drew in the air,wrote the letter g on their white boards and identified pictures beginning with g on the interactive board.
