3D shape hunt
The Ducklings have enjoyed hunting for 3D shapes. They managed to find lots of real life examples of each shape. They are getting really confident at knowing the names - sphere, cylinder, cube, cuboid, pyramid, triangular prism and cone.

The Ducklings have been using their funky fingers to carefully place sequins to make sparkly Catherine wheels.

Junk model rockets
The Ducklings have been making rockets out of junk materials. They have been finding different ways to join parts together and have used their knowledge of 3D shapes to name any that have used.

The Little Red Hen
The Ducklings have loved reading the traditional tale of The Little Red Hen and now know it so well that they love acting it out and retelling it using the repetitive story language.

Taller and shorter
Our maths challenge was to make a tower and compare it with our talking partner to see who had the tallest and who had the shortest.

Height Order
As part of our maths challenge, we had to sort ourselves into height order. We then used comparative vocabulary such as tallest, shortest, taller, shorter.

Sharing stories
The Ducklings throughly enjoyed reading The Little Red Hen story. They also brought in their own versions from home and enjoyed telling each other the different stories as well as talking about the similarities and differences between them.
