Underarm throw
The Ducklings have been learning how to throw underarm this week in P.E. It is really quite tricky to remember that the opposite leg to your throwing arm goes in front of you as you throw. We have been throwing at different targets.

Segementing to spell
We are beginning to be able to make or spell words by segmenting them out loud to help us hear the sounds/letters that are in them. We then put or write the letters in the correct order!

In PSED, we have been thinking about people who are important to us. We talked about how these might be people that we could turn to if we needed help. We each thought of 5 people who would be our 'Helping 5!'

Comparing length, weight and capacity
In maths the Ducklings have been comparing the length, size, weight and capacity of different objects and using some of the comparative vocabulary to order them. They have been using vocabulary such as longest, shorter, heavier, lightest, full, empty and so on.

PE 7.10.22
In P.E this week we have been practising our hopping skills in a range of ways. Each station is set up to enhance a particular skill and our hopping is already improving, as is our skill of jumping for distance.

Our sense of smell
The Ducklings have been using their noses to try and guess the different smells in the 'Mystery Smelling Pots.' They guessed that they could smell coffee, curry, perfume or flowers, orange and flowers.
