Celebrating our achievements
In Ducklings we love to share our hobbies and interests outside of school. We know a lot of children dance, swim, play football and have many other active hobbies and we love to hear about and share in our achievements.

The Ducklings have been sorting the vegetables in order of their size and then using comparative vocabulary to describe them.

We are looking at ordering objects according to their size this week and finding different ways to compare and measure size.
Today we measured the length of a friend using our hands, feet and other classroom objects.

Funky Finger Hedgehogs
The Ducklings have been exercising their finger muscles by making play dough hedgehogs and putting each of the matchstick prickles on.

Exploring Autumn
We have been using our different senses to explore some of our Autumn treasures.

Autumn Printing
The Ducklings have been using vegetables to print Autumn colours onto a tree. They have talked about the colours that mixing the different paints has made.

Letter formation
The Ducklings love practising writing the letters that we are learning in phonics each day. Ask them to sing the Jolly Phonics songs for each of the letters we have learnt so far.

With our talking partners we compared our Numicon number and found out who had the number that was more and who had the number that was less.

Enjoying Mark Making
It is lovely to see some of the Ducklings choosing to go and mark make in different areas of the classroom.

Learning to read
The Ducklings are enjoying learning to read during our guided reading sessions each week. They hold their books with care, turn the pages one at a time and tell a story from what they can see in the pictures. They have been predicting what might happen next and answer how and why questions.
