The Ducklings and Little Chicks have collected sticks, leaves and other natural materials to create a bonfire. They decided that they needed to put a Guy Fawkes on top!
They know that you have to be safe and stay well back from a bonfire.

The Ducklings have enjoyed hunting for 3D shapes. They managed to find lots of real life examples of each shape. They are getting really confident at knowing the names - sphere, cylinder, cube, cuboid, pyramid, triangular prism and cone.

The Ducklings have been making rockets out of junk materials. They have been finding different ways to join parts together and have used their knowledge of 3D shapes to name any that have used.

In Maths this week we are sorting 2D and 3D shapes according to their properties. The children have been learning and using mathematical language like sides, faces, corners, etc. We have been sorting shapes as a whole class and during independent activities.
