This week in maths we have been saying the number that is 1 more or 1 less than a given number. We were able to check our ideas by using real objects to either add 1 more or make 1 less by taking one away.

Exploring touch outdoors
This week the children have been collecting a variety of materials outdoors and sorting it according to how it feels. We have been so impressed with the range of vocabulary the children have used.

Digging with trowels
As part of our whole school learning, the children have been learning to use trowels to dig. We have been talking about why it's important to dig up the roots of a weed, the important work of worms and why we need to wear gardening gloves. We most definitely have some budding gardeners!
