Melting chocolate experiment
We continued with our melting investigations today. The children had to hold chocolate buttons in their hands whilst listing to a poem. When they opened their hands, the children had to describe what had happened to the chocolate. After that, the best part was having to lick it off!

Islam Day
The children loved learning all about the Islamic faith with our special visitor, Raheesha. The children learned all about Mecca, how Muslims conduct their day to day life and customs, traditions and routines.

Chinese dancing
Our Chinese dancing workshop was simply wonderful. The children learned a parasol, fan and dragon dance and got to display their creativity to the rest of the school.

Animal rescue
The children have been using a variety of tools to rescue arctic animals from blocks of ice. We have been discussing what other factors can help to melt the ice and set the animals free.

Marshmallow snowflakes
This week we are using our funky fingers to make marshmallow snowflakes. The children have been using toothpicks to create patterns.

Addition in Ducklings
Over the past two weeks we have been learning how to add two groups of objects in different ways. The children have been working with their talking partners and independently to find different totals.

Celebrating 'French Day'
The children enjoyed celebrating French Day by tasting brioche and Croissants for snack, learning greetings and numbers in French and singing a French song.

Nativity role play
We now have a new role play area, set up as a nativity scene. It has been lovely to listen to the children act out the nativity story with their friends.

A visit from a music teacher
The children loved learning all about how music teachers help us to learn instruments, sing and move to music. We got to sing along to some favourite songs and play some familiar and new instruments.

A visit from the Bank
We were lucky to have a visit from Mrs Hardwick, who works for a bank. The children learned about what a bank does and how they help us with money. The children have loved role playing with the resources left for them.

A visit from a police officer
Today we had a special visit from Police Officer Brazil. He told us all about his work as an officer, how he helps to catch criminals and about the equipment he uses. The children got to handle the handcuffs, his police hat and his radio.
