Fascinating Snails
Today the children noticed a lot of snails when outside. This we a perfect opportunity to get up close, handle and share our knowledge about snails. It was lovely to see how gentle, curious and excited the children were.

Visit to St Hilda's Church
Today we were very excited to walk up to visit St Hilda's church and meet Reverend Carolyn. We were fortunate to be able to explore the church and an opportunity to ask Reverend Carolyn lots of questions.

A visit from Reverend Hannah
Today we had a visit from Reverend Hannah Boyd who came to tell the Ducklings all about Baptism and Christenings. The children enjoyed acting out a christening service and learning about Hannah's job as a vicar.

Learning about Capacity
This week the Ducklings are learning all about capacity. The children have been excited to carry out challenges around the environment. I'm sure they can tell you all about their super learning!

Problem solving with water
We turned a dull, rainy morning into an opportunity for a spot of problem solving. The children set up a network of water channels and worked together to figure out ways for the water to flow. An amazing chance to develop our communication and language skills.

Measuring and Ordering
In Mathematics this week we are measuring objects using non standard measures, comparing and ordering objects. The children are using language such as smallest, largest, biggest, widest, narrowest, tallest and shortest to compare and order.

Exploding Planets!
Today we have been experimenting with baking soda, vinegar and water to make some bubbling planets. The children decided they wanted to make the 'red planet', Mars, and loved observing the explosions of bubbles and fizzing.

Bubble Fun!
As part of our Science Investiagtion Week we are exploring bubbles outside. The children were using hoops to investigate just what we can do. We loved using the large hoops to put ourselves inside a bubble.

Mummies on our minds
This week we have been thinking all about our mummies. The children have been using adjectives to describe their mummies and about why mummies are special to us. The children are very excited about making Sunday special.

Hot Seating with Baby Bear
This week we are continuing to look at the story 'Whatever Next'. We have experienced 'hot seating', where the children are questioned when in role as the character of Baby Bear. The Ducklings teachers were very impressed with the super questions put to Baby Bear and how well some of the children…
