Investigating Distance
The Ducklings have been predicting and exploring which vehicles will travel the furthest down the ramp. They have then measured the distance travelled by counting their footsteps.

Taking Away with Gingerbread Men
The Ducklings have been reading the story of The Gingerbread Man. They enjoyed using real gingerbread men to carry out their maths work. They counted back as they took the gingerbread men away to help them subtract.

Our Trip to Old Holly Farm
Last week we had a fabulous day at Old Holly Farm. We saw sheep and lambs, pigs, cows and calves, rabbits, donkeys, chickens and alpacas! We collected eggs from the hen house, saw the lambs being fed, tasted ice-cream, made a craft cow, fed the calves and looked in the parlour, where the cows areā¦

Spring Lambs
Dotty and Dave, the lambs, came to visit our school, especially for our spring morning. They were lovely! We stroked and fed them and they enjoyed lying in the spring sunshine. Some of us were very brave to meet an animal that we had never met before!

Musical Patterns!
The Ducklings have been pattern mad over the last few weeks! We have discovered that you can also make sound patterns!
We have used the percussion instruments to create our own musical repeating patterns! It was great fun!!

Sequencing events in our day
The children worked with a partner to share ideas and discuss how to order different events in a typical day. They discussed what they would do first in the morning, through to what they would do last thing at night.

Telling the Time
In Mathematics we have been learning about time. Some of the children were able to play a game on the Clever Touch board. They had to read the label and match it to the correct o'clock time on the clock. Well done!
