This week the Ducklings have enjoyed icing biscuits with different colours of runny icing and sprinkles, to make them look like fireworks exploding! They enjoyed eating them even more!

Colour Mixing
We have enjoyed exploring mixing colours together, to see what colours they make, with paint on our hands. We have used the hand prints to be the leaves and have made a lovely autumn tree.

Leaf Threading
As part of our autumn theme we have enjoyed threading through holes in leaves. We have made the holes ourselves using a hole punch too! Great exercises for our funky fingers!

A Visit from the School Nurse

Mud kitchen fun
This week the children have been learning in the mud kitchen, making food from our story 'The Little Red Hen'. Today the children were baking bread and sharing it using different containers.

Rosie the caterpillar
We were surprised to find a caterpillar had joined us for reading this morning. The children loved making observations about colour, shape, whether it has feet or legs (or both!) and looking at how it moves. Lots of wonder and fascination!

The Little Red Hen
The Ducklings have enjoyed reading the traditional tale of The Little Red Hen. They know it so well now, that they can use puppets and other props to retell the story to their friends.

Autumn Maths
This week we are matching numbers to quantities in Maths, through our 'Autumn' theme. The children have been practising how to count carefully, using their finger to point as they say a number before moving on to the next.
