Programming Handa 'bot'

The Ducklings have been programming our bee bot to take it from Handa's house and collect the different fruits before going to Akeyo's house. No cheating allowed! A few children wanted to pick the bee bot up and turn it around!

Paying with coins

The children have paid for the fruit in Handa's basket by reading the prices and finding the correct coins for each one.

Today we read a lovely book called 'My mum is fantastic.' Afterwards we all shared how fantastic our mums are and came up with our own words to describe our mums. The children then went on to write about each of their mums.

Tasting Tropical Fruits

This week in snack we have been tasting some of the tropical fruits from the Handa's surprise story. They were yummy! We couldn't find a guava, so we tried some guava juice instead! We wrote about what we thought of the different fruits.

Subtracting by counting back

The Ducklings have been exploring how to count back to help them subtract. They have been solving different subtraction problems with Handa's basket of fruit! They put the number of fruits in the basket to start with in their heads and then count back as they take the fruits out!
