* Role Play and Playscripts in PSHE
The children in Doves’ Class have been discussing the value of money and how not to take it for granted. They created a role play of a scenario between a mother and a daughter, where they have discussed how children should earn some of the things they get and that children shouldn’t just expect ’things’. This role play involved the idea that children could earn pocket money and how to be more responsible for this. Following this lesson, the children used their understanding of the features of playscripts to create a playscript for the roleplay they created. They practised with their partner and discussed how stage direction can be added to playscripts to enable the actors to follow the script more effectively.
"Doves' Class go Bird watching"
This week in Doves’ Class we have been learning more about wild birds. The children have been watching out for the different species of birds that visit our school grounds. In addition to this, the children have researched different birds and created a fact file all about them. They have also used their artistic skills to draw the birds too. Homework for Doves this week was to continue the bird watching in their own gardens or local park and to make a note of the different types of birds they see there.
Owls Big Bird Watch
This week in Owls we have had a fantatsic week of learning all around our Big Bird Watch! We have spotted different birds, collected a table of information, created a line graph based on how many birds we see in a certain amount of time, drawn different birds and made bird houses.
Owls solve Maths Problems
On Friday 17th January in Owls we solved many problems around our jumping challenge.
Symmetry
Herons are investigating symmetry in shape. Here are some of the activities we have been doing.
Contractions
Where do the apostrophises go in a contracted word? How many letters do we miss out? Which words have been joined together? These are all questions we investigated today.
