Falcons and Hawks Gymnastics
The children in Hawks and Falcons we were working independently and in pairs to master different balances in gymnastics. The children were all so very creative and skillful in demonstrating different balances.

The children in Falcons and Hawks have been bird watching and making a note of the different birds we see around our school grounds. It was astonishing to see how many different types of birds we could see.

Finding angles of Roman Numerals
In Hawks we were learning about how to find missing angles using a protractor and we did this whilst revising our Roman Numerals and learning about the value of internal angles of triangles.
Falcons' Reading Frenzy
Falcons' class have been sharing different books and recommending different genres of writing from a range of authors. We are having a big focus on reading and I can already see how the children have begun to read more at home. I am monitoring how many times they read to an adult each week and there will be exciting prizes for the children who read the most. Reading is so very important as it unlocks knowledge for the children in all areas of the curriculum. Which book have you read recently? What did you like about it? An Arctic Visitor
We were very lucky to have a visit from a parent, who used to live on an island off Norway. He came to talk to us all about what it is like to live in the Arctic. The children listened beautifully and were extremely interested in looking at all of the artefacts that he brought along. We are looking forward to trying some Norwegian crisp breads for our snack tomorrow!
