Old Toys
As part of our topic all about toys we have been looking at some very old toys. We have compared them with the toys that we have today. This doll which we were able to hold and look at was at least 100 years old!

Exploring the icy weather!

Jack Frost Junk Modelling

Subtraction stories

Making snowmen
It was a real shame we had no real snow this week, only hailstones! Instead we had to use play dough to make our snowmen! We have used recyclable materials such as bottle tops, twigs and fabric scraps to add finishing touches to our creations.

Making Rice Krispie Cakes
We couldn't let our melted chocolate go to waste, so we enjoyed using it to make chocolate krispie cakes. We were so good at following instructions, that next week we are going to write our own instructions for making krispie cakes!

Melting Chocolate
This week we have explored the changes that happen to chocolate when it is heated and when it is cooled again. We were able to use lovely describing words to describe what we could see.

Making bird feeders
In topic time this week we have read instructions for how to make bird feeders. Outside we have enjoyed getting our hands mucky to make some of these feeders. Some of us thought the lard felt sticky and yucky! We will hang these around our playground to help feed the birds during the winter…
