Subtraction stories

It was very windy this week, but we managed to do some maths outside! We have been learning that subtraction means taking some away or making less.

We enjoyed playing skittles to help us practise saying subtraction number sentences, for example, "I had 10 skittles. 3 were knocked down. That leaves 7."

Some of us are even so clever that we managed to write down the number sentences as a sum, using the correct symbols! Mrs Catterall and Mrs Claydon have been very proud of our maths this week!
