New Arrivals
This morning we went into the office to look at the duck eggs which arrived in School yesterday. One of the eggs had a crack and small hole in it. As we watched we could just see a little beak pecking at the shell. We would have liked to have stayed and watch but knew that it would be a while before the duckling would hatch.
By 11 o’clock our first duckling had hatched!
Then just after home time the second duckling started to appear.
The ducklings will stay in the incubator overnight and tomorrow will be moved into a a bigger home. This cage has a heat lamp, which the ducklings will stay under for the first few days.
There is also food and water.
I wonder if any of the other 3 eggs will hatch over night.
Night, night ducklings.
Thursday
There was another duckling when we arrived in School this morning. All three ducklings have now been moved into a cage.
