Applying new language in open ended activities
When new language is introduced, we love to observe the children applying this language in their own play. After learning capacity words in Maths, here were some of the comments heard...

Capacity Crazy!
In Maths this week we are learning about capacity in lots of different ways. The children are learning and applying new language in a variety of different challenges and investigating the a capacity of different containers in their free play.

Shapes and their properties
This week we have been going crazy about 2D shapes. We have been sorting shapes due to their properties and finding 2D shapes on 3D shape faces. The children have made some amazing sea creatures from shapes too!

Getting creative outside

This week we have been going crazy about 2D shapes. We have been sorting shapes due to their properties and finding 2D shapes on 3D shape faces. The children have made some amazing sea creatures from shapes too!

Properties of 3D shapes
In Maths this week we are learning all about 3 D shapes and their properties. We are comparing, sorting and talking about shape and completing a range of different shape based activities.

Construction Club
Today was the first of our after school construction club. The children have really enjoyed working together or independently to create and build a range of interesting things, from helicopters to the Queen's throne!

Making our own patterns
In Mathematics this week we are going crazy about patterns. Today we have been combining lots of different resources to make exciting patterns and thinking about how many ways we can make 'people patterns'.

Thinking about plastic

Indian Dance Workshop
The children loved our Indian dance workshop. We learned about some Indian dance traditions, sequenced a dance to Indian music and got to perform our dance to the other Ducklings and Little Chicks. Ask your child to teach you a few moves they have learned!
