Making Shakers
This week we have started to learn all about our senses and the sense of hearing. As the children have been finding and making lots of different sounds outside, we thought it would be good to make some shakers.
The children had to choose a container, box, tub or tube and the place something to make a sound. They could choose from sand, different types of pasta, sunflower seeds or chickpeas. Some children chose to put a little of everything into their shaker. Once the shaker was sealed it was time to decorate it, using a variety of mark making tools, glue, coloured paper, crepe paper and tissue paper.
Once dry we were ready to see what sounds we can make with our shakers!
