Hearing one of the five senses
Little Chicks have been looking at the sense of hearing. We listened to sounds indoors and outdoors we took turns at circle time to listen for a sound.
Miss Taylor "What can you hear?"
Hunter "The toilet flush and talking."
Henry "The tap, talking."
Rex "An aeroplane."
Ben "A Birdy"
Georgia "The tap."
Charlie "The tap."
Bertie "Birdy"
William "Door opening."
Elizabeth "A Birdy"
Petra "Putting the plates out."
Elsie "Scrapping butter."
Throughout the morning they engaged in the guess the sound game listening to the sound then identifying the picture.

Little Chicks looked a different ways to make sound with their bodies.
- clapping hands together.
- snapping fingers.
- tapping fingers on table.
- slapping knees.
- tapping top of head.
- stomping feet.
- rubbing hands together.
- popping air filled cheeks.
Little Chicks learnt about the ways in which sound is made. Little Chicks sang the hearing song.
