Our Special Things

In RE, we are going to be finding out how different religions have special books and stories. We have begun exploring this by finding out what things are special to us and why.  Each child brought in something which was special to them and showed it to their friends and explained why it was special to them. We talked about how things can be special because they are very old or new; because they were given to us when we were born or another special occasion; because they are valuable or precious; beacuse they are a souvenir of a special time spent somewhere or because someone very special gave them to us or made them for us. It was lovely to hear all of the very different and personal reasons for their special objects.
