Fun with shapes
This week we are looking at 2D shapes and seeing if we can match them. This afternoon we had the large glitter shapes out and the children not only matched the shapes but also used them to create patterns and pictures.
I was also very impressed with some children's ability to name some of the shapes such as circle, square, triangle, rectangle, diamond, star and hexagon.
We have been playing pairs and dominoes matching the 2D shapes and the shapes of animals.
These games are great for teaching the children to take turns and help with improving their concentration. They would also make super Christmas stocking fillers!
