Our whole school focus has been on location. In KS1 we have been looking at our local location of Blackpool. In Herons we studied and found out about Blackpool. We then found out a lot of facts about the piers in Blackpool. As a class we made a pier. In the hall KS1 created a Blackpool display. Robins made the Tower and Parrots made the Big One.

The best thing I found out about Blackpool was the pier and I enjoyed the facts it has sand and sea next to it. It has rides and arcades on the pier. I helped to make the pier. My favourite thing about the display is that it's massive and won't break :)

My favourite thing I found out was that there are 3 piers and lots of rides and arcades. I made some of the pier. I like the big wheel moving the best.

One of my favorite things was finding out about the big wheel. I couldn't believe how big it is. I like the way it goes around. I really enjoyed painting some of the parts of the pier.

I loved my visit to Central Pier, even though it was raining! We walked to the end of the pier, looking at the different stalls and fairground rides. I am really looking forward to going back there soon, when the rides and pier will be lit-up at night!!

My favourite thing that I learnt about Blackpool was how high and fast The Big One is. I helped to make the pier. My favourite thing about the display is the big wheel because I like the colours and how it goes round and round.

I loved learning about Blackpool ,my favourite part was helping to make the big wheel! The best part of the display is the rollercoaster. Fast rides are the best! ????

I love Blackpool!!! I am enjoying this topic. My favourite thing I learnt about Blackpool was the illuminations. I went to see them last Saturday. I helped to make the sand handprints to go on our class display. I love the Blackpool tower on the display.

My favourite thing about Blackpool was learning about the pier, when it was built and knowing about what is on the pier. I love the pier we made I helped to make the wooden legs of the pier and the Ferris wheel is my favourite part, the way it goes round I'd like to have s go on the real one when I am bigger. I like learning about Blackpool.

My favourite thing I found out about Blackpool was the catapult on the pier which slings you up in the air like this (jumping up high as he's describing it), I also liked learning about all the different rides and 2p machines! For the display I helped make the part of the pier that stands up by painting it brown, my favourite part of the display is Blackpool Tower because it's the tallest :)

The favourite thing I found out about Blackpool was the longest pier is north pier. I helped make the piers. I loved everything about it . It was awesome ! I loved parrots display too, and I love Blackpool pleasure beach ! ????

Hannah learnt there are 3 piers in Blackpool. Hannah's favourite thing at night is to look out for Blackpool tower and see what colour it is. Hannah is looking forward to walking along the promenade and seeing the illuminations.

I enjoyed making the end of the pier and like that Blackpool has fireworks every year. I think the best part of the display is the tower because it is high and stands out.

The best thing about blackpool is all the rides you can go on. It's the funest place in the world. I love the illuminations and that it lights up at night time.

The favourite thing i learnt about was the pier because it has a big Ferris wheel on. I helped make the pier in the display which I enjoyed doing. I can’t wait to walk along the lights again like I did last year.

My favourite thing that I learnt about Blackpool was learning about the 3 piers. I made some sand hand-prints for the display. I like the rollercoaster on our display the best because of the little people sat on it with their hands up.

I love going up Blackpool Tower with my family. Going on the glass floor at the top is my favourite part.
