Doves' Debate about Bonfire Night and Conscience Alley
15 November 2016
In Doves Class we have been writing a balanced argument about whether we should have Bonfire Night, or not. We split the class in to two teams. One team was for Bonfire Night and wrote arguments for why we should have Bonfire Night. These arguments included spending time with family and enjoying the fireworks. Subsequently, the other team was against Bonfire Night and wrote arguments against Bonfire Night. These arguments included people and animals being scared or getting hurt by fireworks and also the potential of accidents happening due to the smoke caused. Each side of the debate stood on one side of the conscience alley. We chose a child to walk through the middle and listen to each side of the argument.
