We love PE!
The Ducklings have enjoyed another great morning of PE with Josh from Fleetwood Town. They have practised their skipping, hopping, running and jumping skills through different individual and team games. They also have to be ready and changed by 9.15am every Tuesday morning and are getting quicker each week at getting dressed and undressed. Keep practising doing up and undoing those buttons, as well as turning clothes the right way when they are inside out.
Secret Agent 2D shape mission
The Ducklings all turned into secret agents and were set the mission of finding as many different 2D shapes as possible. They found circles, squares, ovals, rectangles, triangles, hexagons and octagons.
Rangoli Patterns
As part of our Diwali celebrations we have made some beautiful Rangoli patterns with Miss Wilson outside. We used the giant glittery shapes and we worked together as a team. In maths we have been learning all about 2D shapes, so we were able to name most of the shapes and describe some of their properties. We had to think very carefully how to position and place the shapes so that our pattern had symmetry.
PE with Fleetwood Town
The Ducklings loved their first lesson with Josh from Fleetwood Town. They explored moving in lots of different ways such as running, jumping, hopping and skipping. They had to move around the space with care and control. They enjoyed playing competitive team games together.
Bhangra Dancing
The Ducklings have enjoyed trying out some Bhangra dancing as part of finding out about Diwali. They were brilliant little movers!
Diwali
This week we have been finding out all about the Hindu festival of light called Diwali. We have turned our home corner into a home for celebrating where the children can pretend to have a special family meal and worship at their family shrine called puja. The children have made special lamps out of clay called divas and have enjoyed making Diwali cards. Some of the children have acted out the story Rama and Sita together.
