Our First Day

We have had a fantastic first day. Miss Taylor and I were very impressed with the way the children came in this morning. The children have been learning where to put our things, our morning song, how to do the register on our big board, where to go to the toilet and wash our hands. Miss Taylor made us a lovely snack of milk, toast and fruit this morning and we went outside with Mrs Stock. We have done lots of activities, mark making, jigsaws, play dough, playing in the home corner, train track, computer and interactive board, the water, play house, dinosaurs.

The children went into the hall to have their lunch and showed some super table manners. They all seemed to really enjoy their lunch! After lunch we have a 15 minute quiet time to allow our lunch to settle and watch a story/programme on the interactive board. Once afternoon register was done we were back to choosing our learning. At story time the children joined in telling the story 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt', lots of the children knew the story and before we knew it it was time to get ready for home! We then sang our goodbye song and watched and joined in with rhymes on the interactive board whilst we waited for our grown-ups.

If you haven't already, please can you send in a pair of wellies and puddle suit to stay in Little Chicks for outdoor play. Your child will also need to bring a bag with a change of clothes in (incase of accidents and sometimes no matter how well protected they are water can find its way through puddle suits!), a water bottle, containing water please not juice. Please can you also ensure that all your child's possessions are named, this saves us time trying to match children to their belongings and ensures you get their own things and not somebody else's. Thank you.
