Little Chicks mark Making

We have been tracing over dotted lines and looking at how the children hold their pencil or crayon and how much control they have over it. To help the children achieve the correct pencil hold we place the pencil on the table with the point facing them, we then get them to use their pinching fingers (thumb and index finger) to pinch hold of the pencil and for them to allow the pencil to flop back onto the soft piece of skin between their thumb and index finger.
