Hawks' Home Learning Week 2
1 April 2020
Hello Hawks!
I hope you are all keeping safe and are well.
I have attached an activity to create a bucket list. You can do with your family or on your own and the idea is to write down things you are looking forward to doing once we are our of isolation. I am really looking forward to having a cup of tea with my Nan, going to watch the rugby with my family and going to the park with my niece.
Today is the first day of April, see if you can complete the attached April challenge.
For you Lego fans, there is a Lego challenge attached too. Please send me your photos of any ones you complete.
There is also a lovely D.T. activity you can do with your family, if any of you complete it please email me a photo of your finished piece along with an art activity and you only need tape and chalk!
I have also attached some mindfulness activities as I know this time away from our normal routines at school is quite different.
Please comment below to let me know and your class friends what you have been up to this week. You might want to share ideas for people to use next week.
Thank you to those who are emailing me, it is so lovely to hear from you all and know what learning you are doing from home. I have read a lovely story, poem and seen some fantastic pictures of PE and baking.
If there is anything you particularly want or need just let me know.
Stay safe, I miss you all!

Carol is very clever at Maths, what area did you look at or was it a range of Maths? Science with Maddie sounds good, did you do an experiment or investigate anything exciting? Oh wow, Mr McEvilly would love to see you project on King Arthur. Please email me your story, I would love to read it and Mrs Crooks would too. Did you find any interesting facts about your family whilst doing your tree? Please write upi the recipe, Mrs Crooks and would love to have a go at making it.
I really miss you!!

Sounds like you've had a busy week again.
I have taken this opportunity to give my house a good cleaning and feel like I've given myself a good workout in the process. I have got my husband and youngest son working from home, so I have to be really quiet because they often take conference calls but I got told off the other day, for singing too loudly when I had my earphones in!
As I said previously, I have made a chocolate fudge cake for Matty's birthday and it's in the freezer, ready for the frosting to go on, on Monday morning. I also made a new recipe from my magazine - it was a ravioli lasagne, using spinach and ricotta ravioli, a tin of tomatoes, garlic, more spinach and lots of cheese - yummy.
How far back did you go with your family tree Olivia? I find all that history really interesting. I have got my family tree going back to 1828 to the Kilner family who made the famous jars and my dad has always told me that his side of the family also traced our line back to Oliver Cromwell!
I like the fact that you tested your mum, Nicola - hope you didn't make it too hard for her!
I miss doing the maths with you Kemi - it sounds like you'll be ready for high school - no problem.
Keep well everybody and keep in touch.

The obstacle course in your garden sounds like fun - what kind of things did you use?
I have an exercise bike in my garage, which I'm now going on every day. I'm starting to feel my leg muscles aching, like we did when we walked up that mountain in Coniston!!

Sounds like you've been really busy as well - no wonder you're feeling tired!
I was in school with Mrs Hicks last week and we did some gardening. We planted some whole potatoes that had started sprouting, so it will be interesting to see what happens to those over the next few months. It looks like the weather is going to be good this week, if vegetable planting is what you decide to do.
You'll have to let us know what you decide to cook, when you do your favourite recipe. I'm cooking Matty's favourite tonight - lasagne.
Say hello to your sister for me and hope you are all well.
