A visit from a soldier

Today we were very excited when Mr Powell arrived in our classroom after break.
He talked to us about the importance of Remembrance Day and why we wear poppies. Some of us already knew but for others it was a surprise to learn that Mr Powell used to be a soldier. He talked to us about what is was like to be a soldier and brought some photos and medals for us to look at.

I enjoyed hearing all about Mr Powell and when he was a solider, I liked knowing what he wore, and did I found it interesting.
