On 5th October, our class heron Squarky turned 1. We celebrated by giving him a birthday party. We decorated the classroom with banners and balloons. We gave him a birthday card. Then we played musical bumps and statues. Max B and Sophia won. We sang "Happy Birthday" and ate birthday cake.
We then wrote a recount the following day, during our big write.

I enjoyed all of Squarky's party but my favourite part was eating birthday cake! I would add pass the parcel to his next party as it is one of my favourite games.

The best part of Squarky's party was doing the Superman dance, Cha Cha Slide and eating cake! I loved Squarky turning 1 - next year he will be 2! Next year at his party I think there should be more songs for dancing and disco lights in the classroom :)

I enjoyed playing musical statues and musical bums. My favourite part was opening squackys card. If I were to add one thing to his next party it would be a bigger cake.

The best bit was the cake it was yummy!!!!! We all had so much fun, I wish it was Sqarky’s birthday every day!! If we have another party I’d definitely do more dancing!

My favourite part about the party was eating the cake. It was yummy and I loved it. I enjoyed playing the games and I am glad I won a prize. If we have another party I think we should play pass the parcel.
