Dinosaur PE
28 February 2017
Dinosaur rolling was the skill today.
We love learning about dinosaurs and so our PE is all about them too.
To warm up we pretended to be running from a T-Rex (Mrs. Wills) and had to make the smallest shape we could wehn we haerd the roar.
The quickest and smallest shape was the winner each time.
After that we moved like dinosaurs aroud the hall; A diplodicus had long heavy strides, A t-Rex was quicker but still heavy, a stegasaurus was on all fours with the hand and foot on each side moving together and a triceratops was with the opposite hand and foot moving at the same time. sk your childrenm to demonstarte if they can.
We then pretended we were eggs that were rolling out the nest after an earthquake. We needed to keep tucked up in an egg shape and roll on the mats. There was some greta efforts.
We also practised our accuracy of rolling by rolling eggs (small balls) into their nests (hoop). It was tricky as we had to keep our backs straight and bend our legs still remembering to step with our opposite leg. Have a look here.
