Another interesting and exciting week in Parrots, the children are working so well, settling in and trying their very best with the work.

In Maths we have done lots of practical work with addition- part-whole models, bar models and we have even used 10 frames. We enjoyed practically working with a range of manipulatives.

In our writing we have been completing narratives for the Great Fire of London story, VLAD. The children had to create a character profile for a new character and then retell the story using a range of sentence starters, adjectives not to mention capital letters, finger spaces and full stops. They have done an amazing job.

We have enjoyed going on a bus tour to see the London landmarks, making playdough landmarks and using the building equipment to do this too. The children have all got a good understanding of what sights we might see in London. We also enjoyed being teachers and looking at each others work; talking about what we like and what we could do to improve.

We ended the week doing shading in Art, thinking about how to make our pencil create dark to light tones. Spelling tests have been successful and the children are super stars!

Well done Teddy for being a model pupil; our star of the week
