Hawks' Home Learning Week 1
25 March 2020
Hello Hawks!
I have attached an example of a timetable you could use at home, as routines and structure to your day is very important. You might want to create your own and I would love to hear about this.
I have also put up some resources for you to complete with some famous celebrities. I know many of you are taking part in Joe Wicks PE sessions which is brilliant.
There is also a scavenger hunt which you could compete against people in your family. As a family you might want to create your own garden scavenger hunt.
There is also information about our class novel Wonder- live readings every Wednesday. This could be something lovely to listen to whilst eating your lunch.
I would also like you all to take part in in the sketching challenge. You can use paper or a sketch book but please keep your sketches together to show how you are getting on with the challenge. Think about different media to sketch with, including pencils and charcoal.
Please comment below to let me know and your class friends what you have been up to this week. You might want to share ideas for people to use next week.
Thank you to those who are emailing me, it is so lovely to hear from you all and know what learning you are doing from home. If there is anything you particularly want or need just let me know.
Stay safe, I miss you all!

How did you get on with your algebra? Well done on working on some areas you are finding tricky. You sound like you have a fun-filled timetable. What have you been cooking? Mrs McGrath gave me a super recipe for a chicken bake which I made for tea one night. I love Monopoly, such a fun game. I also play Uno at school last week. Glad to hear you are doing PE too. I am really glad you enjoyed your algebra, I know we were really enjoying it in class. I am so glad you have been doing some baking, especially cookies. One of my favourite treats as we know.

Games nights are fantastic, what games did you play? We have been doing some gardening too, the weather has been so lovely. Please email me your story once you have finished, I love reading your writing.

Wow, you've all been really busy!!
I'm very impressed with the amount of work you're doing and your attitude to learning under these unusual circumstances.
I've been into school a couple of times and it seems so strange without you all there.
I've made my own version of the Alien game from Waterpark and I'd love to be able to play it with you all, when we go back to school.
I've been trying out some new recipes at home and have made a chocolate fudge cake for Matty's (my son's) birthday on Monday.
I've read 2 books and am half way through the third.
Today I've taught my mum, remotely, how to video call on her phone. This was a great achievement for her and she couldn't wait to try it out on other members of the family.
I am collecting all the puzzles out of newspapers and magazines and will have a go at the suduko, crosswords and word searches when I get chance.
I have been going out for a walk each evening, when my hubby has finished his work for the day and it's been good to see you, Olivia S, on a couple of occasions.
It sounds like you're doing a great job on your maths Olivia P - keep up the good work.
I'd love to read your story, Nicola, when it's finished.
Hope you're enjoying your timetable Oliver and having fun too.
Missing you all. Take care
