This morning we introduced our charity day for VICTA, and had a visual awareness day. Thankyou to all those that made a donation in exchange for wearing non uniform.

Our morning started at register time were we talked about how there are some people who are not as lucky as us at being able to see clearly and some that cannot see at all. We then went on to discuss how some might use a guide dog or a white stick. The children then had the chance to tick themselves off the register while using some special glasses that we'd made to mimic tunnel vision, blurry eyesight, etc. We found it very difficult!

Some of our activities were changed to make us use our other senses instead of sight, for example we had to reach into a bag, feel the object and then had to either describe or draw what we thought it was!

Outside, we made an obstacle course but had to try and complete it while wearing a blindfold or the special glasses. What fun!
