What a busy start we have had to our second half term. In Maths we have been learning how to multiply mentally and using a written method. In our English lessons we have been looking at the features of non-chronological reports and in Science we have been investigating which type of rock we would use for our buildings.

On Thursday we had our Outdoor Classroom Day. We looked for different shapes in the environment, used dictionaries to solve clues to help us find hidden treasure around the school grounds, learnt how to make a fire like a person from the Stone Age and made Stone Age tools and jewellery.

As part of your homework, please comment on this blog post and tell me what you most enjoyed about our Outdoor Classroom Day and why.

Well done this week to William who is our Star of the Week for hard work with his tables and his writing and for being positive and lighting up the room with his smile.

Don't forget that Tuesday is our class assembly day next week.

Have a lovely weekend.

I liked outdoor learning because I got to make a clay necklace and I got to do a treasure hunt for little tubes that had words inside. The tubes were all around the field and playground.

My favourite activity from outdoor learning day was the one where we got a picture of the school from above and on it were letters and where the letters were on the map was where they were in the school and when we found one there would be a container and in it there would be a word in it so you would put it back and go inside and look the word up in a dictionary and write the meaning of the word on the piece of paper we were given at the start. I liked this because it was like a treasure hunt :)

I most enjoyed seeing how to make a fire. It was a bit of a challenge to get it going and it was also hard to find wood.
