What a fantastic first week in Robins!

The children have settled in so well and I have really enjoyed my first week of teaching at Carleton Green!

This week we have had an art focus and have done some different art pieces everyday! We have drawn self portraits by looking at ourselves in mirrors, drawn our families using pens as well as focusing on light and dark tone and shapes when drawing our houses with Mrs Oddy. We then created a colourful collage of our houses and 3D models of our houses using recycled materials. The children have really enjoyed these art lessons and it has introduced our 'Where do we come from?' topic perfectly.

This week we have also written describing sentences in English focusing on adjectives and including punctuation. In Maths we have done lots of fun practical activities about place value and tens and ones as well as recognising more and less of numbers. We have also explored different areas of our classroom including our reading area, home corner, phonics/funky fingers area, Maths/English challenge areas and wellbeing area.

Well done Robins for having a lovely first week, I hope you have enjoyed it as much as me!

I have enjoyed my first week in Robins class. It has been fun. I have enjoyed making my house model which I have played with at home. I described what everything was to my mummy and daddy. I like this topic.
