This week the Parrots have been learning about length. We have been busy using centimetres and metres to measure the length of objects.

Today the Parrots enjoyed watching Usain Bolt achieve the world record for the 100 metre race, winning in just 9.58 seconds. We used this as inspiration for our learning.

The children worked in teams to find out how far they could run in 10 seconds. The children worked together to measure and record the distance they each travelled.

I was so impressed with the wonderful problem solving that was taking place.

We soon realised that Usain Bolt is VERY quick! Well done Parrots!!

How far did you run in 10 seconds? How did you find out?
