Busy week in Kestrels
16 March 2019
We have had a very busy week in Kestrels!
This week we have been learning all about journeys. We started the week by looking at how far germs can travel when we sneeze. We recreated some different sneezes in the hall and measured how far they travelled using cm and m. We then used our Maths skills to convert between different measures and order measures.
We then went for our own journey - a walk through nature. We used our senses to write some poetry about all the different things we could see, hear, touch and smell on our journey.
Later in the week we looked at how different journeys can harm the environment and compared air samples from different environments and from different periods in history.
In PE we re-created, through dance, the journey of a Roman Soldier heading into battle.
To finish the week we explored they journey lava and ash take when a volcano erupts. We then made our own volcano in a jar.
Our star of the week this week is Sam! Sam was chosen for his increase in confidence and contributing to whole class discussion. Sam was also chosen by his peers for his persuasive writing skills. Well Done Sam!
Next week we all look forward to getting to grips with our production rehearsals.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
