HAWKS HOMEWORK: Friday 1st February 2019 DUE IN: Wednesday 6th February 2019

I am so proud of how hard you all worked this week, it was a different week but you all tried your best which is all I can ask for. The pieces of homework you created last week were FANTASTIC; I cannot wait to display them.

Reminders:

  • Please ensure indoor and outdoor PE kits and coats are in school DAILY.
  • Please ensure you have a water bottle and a healthy snack (fruit/vegetable sticks) in school daily.
  • Year 6 SATs meeting, Monday 4th February at 5pm in the hall and Friday 8th February at 9am in the Wing (Friday is a repeat of Monday).

Reading, Writing, SPaG and Topic: This week, our focus has been learning continuing to learn about the Titanic. Choose from one of the following to complete for homework:

  • Write a response letter to the letter you sent to Mrs McGrath. Think about the formality of structure and language.
  • Research and find a recipe of something off your menu (something you would be keen to make for example scones) and highlight, underline or circle the features of the recipe (structure, language, vocabulary, grammar).

Spellings: Separate. We have continued our learning on homophones.

I have noticed that some spelling scores; weekly and from the mock SPaG, scores are quite low. PLEASE ensure your learning your words and rules weekly. PLEASE learn your common exception words too from your  reading records! ANY questions, please come and see me.

Blog: Have a look on the blog page to answer the questions based on our learning this week (and last week if you did not blog).

Remember: to read daily, complete IDL at least twice a week and timetable Rockstars three times a week and record in your reading record.

Maths: Separate. This week we have been learning about ratio. Please choose your coloured area of learning but challenge yourself. Complete in your homework books.
