Maths Problem Solving Morning

On Tuesday 3rd February, we had a problem solving maths morning, it was very exciting. My maths group were giving the task of transforming our classroom in to a lounge/kitchen diner. They had to measure the room very accurately and convert these measurements to enable them to calculate the area and perimeter. This provided them with vital information so they could price up carpet, wallpaper, curtains and other soft furnishings to transform the classroom into a stylish home. It was interesting to see which children budgeted carefully and which children had expensive taste!! It was fun!!
