Yellow Ducklings Learn Remotely

Today the Ducklings have had another busy day learning from home. First they join in with live Zoom lessons with their teachers and teaching assistants and then they do their own follow up tasks. Look at all of this amazing adding using different objects from around the home, learning to read and write the letter l within words and sentences and finally reading the story of No-Bot The Robot With No Bottom, creating their own robots, retelling the story and writing all about it.

Wow! Today has been another super day of remote learning. Thank you to all of the amazing children for their brilliant work. A big well done to all of the grown-ups too for all of their support. We have been learning how to add two groups of objects or numbers together and how to write a number sentence. We have been reading and writing tricky words. Finally we have been creating our own pages for the 'That's not my robot..' story.

Today was the first day of learning at home for the Ducklings. They enjoyed their Zoom lessons with their teachers and Learning Support Assistants and here is some of the lovely work that they have completed - creating their own repeating patterns, learning all about the letter 'f' and exploring household objects past and present. Well done, everyone!

We love PE!

The Ducklings have enjoyed another great morning of PE with Josh from Fleetwood Town. They have practised their skipping, hopping, running and jumping skills through different individual and team games. They also have to be ready and changed by 9.15am every Tuesday morning and are getting quicker each week at getting dressed and undressed. Keep practising doing up and undoing those buttons, as well as turning clothes the right way when they are inside out.

The Ducklings all turned into secret agents and were set the mission of finding as many different 2D shapes as possible. They found circles, squares, ovals, rectangles, triangles, hexagons and octagons.

Rangoli Patterns

As part of our Diwali celebrations we have made some beautiful Rangoli patterns with Miss Wilson outside. We used the giant glittery shapes and we worked together as a team. In maths we have been learning all about 2D shapes, so we were able to name most of the shapes and describe some of their properties. We had to think very carefully how to position and place the shapes so that our pattern had symmetry.
