Year 5/6

Our teachers are Mrs Bagwell (Mon, Tues & Wed) and Mrs Billington (Thurs & Fri).

Miss Hardman and Mrs White are our LSAs who support us with our learning everyday.

PE will be on Wednesdays and Fridays so you will need to come in your PE kits on those days.

Swimming, for the children involved will be on a Monday, so please bring appropriate kit and a coat (as you will be walking to the venue).

Our School Council representatives are Alex B and Maisy C.

Our Eco Council representatives are Zack J and Finlay C. 

Our Sports Council representatives are Joshua H and Harry R.

Homework is set every Friday and should be completed by the following Wednesday. Spellings are added to the class page every Friday and tested the following Friday.

We have had a great week in Eagles ! On Wednesday we were lucky enough to participate in a Hindu workshop with a special visitor who shared with us what it is like to be a Hindu. In English we have been comtinuing to write a narrative about our class novel. In maths we have been finding out about percentages.

We have had a very exciting week in Eagles culminating in our World Book Day celebrations! What amazing costumes we had. Thank you everyone for trying ao hard. In English we have been finishing our a non-chronological report about the Anglo-Saxons. In maths we have been multiplying with decimals.

We have had a super week. This week we were looking at the epic poem Beowulf and performing it for the rest of the class. Your English and Maths homework is on Education City. Friday 16th December 2022

We have finally made it to the end of the autumn term and we are delighted with how hard you have all worked so far. Today we finished our class novel 'The Explorer' and what an enjoyable adventure it was! There is some homework on Education City but below there is also a homework chart with lots of fun ideas to keep you busy. This needs to be completed by Wednesday 4th January 2023. Please also read as much as you can and write down what you have been reading. If you read other books you can tell us about these too. Your spellings are also attached below. There are 4 groups but this time squares, pentagons and hexagons all have the same words. This is because the pattern is 'ice' or 'ise' and they are tricky to learn. The test will be Friday 6th January.

We have completed lots of exciting work this week. We turned our narrative texts into books to keep on our bookcase at school. In maths we have been continuing our work on fractions. Your English and Maths homework is on Education City. This needs to be completed by Wednesday 30th November. We have been working very hard this week in all our lessons. We have almost finished writing our stories about The Explorer. We have also been working with fractions in Maths. On Thursday we again had some brilliant tennis coaches leading our PE lesson (even though we got soaked). Some of our Year 6 children have been completing our 'Bikeability' programme too. Your English and Maths homework is on Education City. This needs to be completed by Wednesday 23rd November. Friday11th November 2022

We hope you all had a great half term holiday. We have been very pleased with the way all the children have come back to school with a super attitude to their learning. This week we have been working on our narrative based on our class book. We have also been learning how to complete long division. Some of us found it really difficult, but we persevered and now we are all pretty confident. We have reached the end of our first half term in Eagles. We have been so pleased with the way all the children have settled and shown great enthisiasm in our learning. Summer Term 1 - We have a very busy half term ahead with our Year 6 children preparing for their SATs tests. Our curriculum will be focusing on World War II. Our class novel will be 'Letters from the Lighthouse' by Emma Carroll. We know you will all love this book; it comes highly recommended by previous year groups. Don't forget that this term we are swimming on a Monday afternoon.
