Welcome to our class page
We are a mixture of very hardworking Y3 and Y4 children.
Our Teacher is Mrs Jones and our learning support assistant is Miss Hardman.
Mrs Jones is the school’s PSHE lead and is very passionate about ensuring everyone is encouraged to be brave, be different and be themselves. We have a “My time to shine” display in class where we love to show off your achievements from both school and your wider lives.
Miss Hardman is our very skilled and expeience support assistant. She will be working alongside all the children in Doves at some stage of the week and will also be providing us with some intervention support to ensure we are all achieving our potential. Miss H is also very arty and created our reading area.
Our topic for this first half term is “Sparks might fly”
On Thursday we will vote from a selection of books on what we would like our first class novel to be.
During this term, Doves' Class PE sessions are Tuesdays and Thursdays. P.E is a vital part of the curriculum so please can you make sure that you have your full PE kit in school every day. You can also bring warmer clothes such as tracksuits and jumpers, for our outdoor PE lessons. If you have your ears pierced or wear jewellery, please can you leave them at home on these days. Any children with recent piercings that cannot be removed will need a letter of explanation for Mr Cooper (PE Co-ordinator).
Homework will be given out on a Friday each week and collected in again on the following Thursday. Each week these homework activities are extra learning activities based on our work in class. In addition to this there will be times tables and spellings each week, these will be tested each Friday. Log onto IDL and Rockstar times table as often as you can (ideally at least 3 or 4 times a week). Also please try read as often as possible (share a novel, read out loud, read silently to yourself, tell a story to a sibling, read your reading book to a pet, listen to a bedtime story from an adult, read a magazine).
I will be available to try to answer any questions you have on Thursday.
