Last week we finished our first class novel of the year, Fantastic Mr Fox. Fantastic Mr Fox was written by Roald Dahl and as a class we really enjoyed listening to it. In Herons we really enjoy novel time at the end of each day where we get to listen to our story and eat our snacks and drink our milk.
What was your favourite part of the story? Who was your favourite character and why? Would you recommend this book to anyone and give details why?
Our new novel is The Hodge-Heg by Dick King-Smith. We have read the first two chapters and we have been introduced to Max and his hedgehog family.
What do you predict will happen to Max?

Mr fox is my favourite character because he is on the front cover and I like the fox Cubs
I would recommend this book to other people because it is definitely funny.

My favourite part was when Mr Fox digged a burrow to save all the animals. My favourite character was the smallest fox because he had a plan. I would recommend the book because it was a bit sad but had a happy ending.
I think Max will save the hedgehog.

I liked fantastic Mr fox because at the end the three farmers didn't have any food because Mr fox stole all the food to have a feast. My favourite character is Mr fox. I like the fact that Mr fox goes to Boggis, Bunce and Bean to get food. I like our new novel time book and there is a character is called Max the same name as me. I think Max will get across the road just in time.

My favourite part of Fantastic Mr Fox is when they have a chicken feast. Mr Fox is my favourite character. I would recommend this book because it is a really good story. I am also enjoying the Hodge-Heg, I think Max may get run over on the busy road but I really hope not!

My favourite bit was when the fox took the farmers food.
My favourite character is the fox because he’s fantastic and sneaky.
I would recommend this book because I enjoyed listening to it and it was really good.
I think max is going to get run over by the car.

My favourite part of Famtastic Mr Fox is when he steals the chickens from the farmers. My favourite character In the story is Badger because Fantastic Mr Fox finds Badger in Boggis's chicken house. I would recommend this book to Milo in Robins because it's really funny & Mr Fox gets his tail shot off!
In the new novel, I think Max will run across the road as quick as he can and make it just in time!

My favourite part of the story was when Mr Fox tried to steal some of the chickens because it was very cheeky. Mr Fox was my favourite character because he was looking after his family. I would recommend Fantastic Mr Fox to my friends because I really enjoyed it.
I think Max will get run over because he is only tiny.

My favourite part of the story is when they steal the food from the nasty farmers.
I like farmer bean the best because he's always drinking stuff.
I would recommend this book because it is funny and exiting.
I am worried about max, I think he might have a road accident.

I liked this book because even though Mr Fox lost his tail he never gave up and because of that he is my favourite character in the book. I would recomend this book because it was funny. I really enjoy story time

My favourite part of the story was when the children got the food. My favourite character was the children because they were clever. I would recommend this book because it was funny ????

I love reading fantastic mr fox! My favoutite part when mr fox and Mrs fox got food to feed their family.
